Band of Skulls

Band of Skulls, Folks, John J Presley

Thursday 6th December 2012, 7:00 pm

Band Of Skulls have announced details of an Autumn tour including London’s Brixton Academy show on December 7th. These will be the band’s biggest UK headline shows to date. Their second album, ‘Sweet Sour’ was released in February and entered the UK album chart at number 14, that week’s highest new entry.

The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales with producer Ian Davenport and mixed in Los Angeles by Nick Launay (Nick Cave / PIL / Yeah Yeah Yeahs).

Band Of Skulls play the hmv Institute on 6th December.  Folks will be supporting.

Folks are a six-piece band from the North-West of England who are set for big things. This year has seen them tour by personal request with indie heavyweights Noel Gallagher and Miles Kane, with Noel even asking the lads to perform two songs on Radio 2 when he sat in for Dermot O’Leary. Their debut single, ‘Skull & Bones’, was recently named Q Radio Single Of The Week, and is out now.

Their debut single ‘Skull & Bones’ is out now, available through iTunes.

“Imagine Noel Gallagher producing Queens Of The Stoneage – It’s psychedelic, heavy and has a chorus worth losing a leg for.”- 10/10, The Daily Star

John J Presley, having just come off the road as main support to The Jim Jones Revue around the UK this autumn, the target for the rest of 2012 is to finish the album before its release next year. Past shows with artists like Band of Skulls, The Brute Chorus, Joe Gideon and the Shark and Kill It Kid have all helped cement their presence in this arena.

After being chosen as Artist of the Week on Kerrang! Radio; track of the day for Killing Moon, recent additions to the Amazing Radio playlist and performances on the Artrocker Stage at the Camden Crawl, Truck and Southsea Festival, it seems the organic growth of the band through word of mouth and reputation is working, and growing
