They’ve lost their third member, their major label contract and any legitimate claim to the first five letters of their band name: ‘Contact’ is a collection of catchy pop tunes and an eclectic one at that. Here, Noisettes have a crack at everything from disco to 60s retro, ballads to acid jazz, and bluegrass to bossa nova. How well do they pull it off? So well that they even nail the brief marked: “Go on, write something that sounds like a theme tune for ‘Top Gun 2’.” That one’s called ‘Never Enough’ and actually, it could be the best song here.
