London fivesome Citizens! have already livened up our year with their suave pop gems. Current single ‘Reptile’ is one of 2012’s catchiest; marrying the pomp and glamour of 70s Bowie with the playful danceability of Franz Ferdinand – perhaps unsurprisingly, given Alex Kapranos is on production duties. Not all the tracks here have ‘Reptile’’s instantaneous charm, but given time they’re just as contagious – the camp twinkle of ‘True Romance’, the brazen sexuality of ‘She Said’ and the fizzing glitz of ‘(I’m in Love With Your) Girlfriend’; all combine to make ‘Here We Are’ a loveable pop debut.
