Choir Of Young Believers have already won a slew of awards in their homeland of Denmark and now, with their second LP ‘Rhine Gold’, they’re looking to invade new territories. Expansive, orchestral and delicate, its beauty is totally deserving of another round of critical acclaim. ‘Paint New Horrors’ starts as a sombre croon before spinning into a swaying waltz, whilst the title track is sparse, but throbs with an ominous undercurrent. It’s the record’s longest moment that is most impressive though; ‘Paralyse’ building around a motorik beat and krautrock motifs to form something magnificently hypnotic.
