Gang Colours (aka Will Ozanne) looks set to be this year’s companion on those long, dawn journeys home. Given the seal of approval from Gilles Peterson, this impressive debut is rich in delicate, shuffl ing dance music. It’s also hugely romantic. ‘Fancy Restaurant’ is a gorgeous, swooning date invite whilst ‘Pebble Dash’ – Ozanne’s coy nod to Jamie xx and Gil Scott-Heron’s ‘I’ll Take Care Of U’ – is a ripple of steadfast declarations. It’s sentimental in places, but it also marks the 24-year-old out as one of the most exciting new producers around.
