Designed to separate Cloud Nothings from the current crop of wishy-washy, Instagram-snapping kitsch kids cluttering up the blogosphere, Dylan Baldi’s second full-length is a much-needed wallop of noise. Recorded with the legendary Steve Albini, ‘Attack On Memory’ is nothing short of heavy. ‘Wasted Days’ is a nine minute angst-a-thon (key lyric: “I thought I would be more than this” wailed ad infinitum) whilst ‘Fall In’ is a pop-punk power punch. It’s a definite change from CN’s first hook-filled LP but, at just eight songs, doesn’t
stick around long enough to outstay its welcome.
