Whoever chose ‘The Lion’s Roar’ as the title of First Aid Kit’s new album must be allowing themselves a wry giggle right now – this is an album far better described as a kitten’s whimper, but that’s in no way a criticism; the Swedish sisters’ lulling voices could soothe a rampant grizzly bear. ‘The Lion’s Roar’ is a gentle boat-ride through floating harmonies and wistful nostalgia and picks up where last year’s debut left off, adding a full band and the cunning ears of Bright Eyes’ Mike Mogis as producer. The resulting collection of campfire singalongs proving nothing short of magical.
