‘A Flash Flood Of Colour’ (Ambush Reality)

Between PJ Harvey and Toddla T, these are salad days for really-saying-something albums. Here, Enter Shikari, finally completing their transition from growly kids to a righteous and riot-inciting combo. Opening double whammy ‘System…’/’…Meltdown’, for instance, is an incendiary paean to internationalist idealism, and, while they’re often surfing a plateau musically – again, hyperspeed rifferama, wobbly breakdowns and LOTS! OF! SHOUTING! abound – their exploratory instincts lead them to such conclusions as the affable antsiness of ‘Arguing With Thermometers’. Disenchantment should always be this spellbinding.
