Last year, Norwegian synth-maestros Casiokids received a one million Kroner grant from fellow Nordmenn A-ha for musical potential. Amazing, really, given we’re nads-deep in a financial sink-hole. Two albums in and still singing in their mother tongue, over here Casiokids have to depend on pop’s universal languages of fun and infectious choruses to sell their wares. Segueing between tropical, electro-wonk (‘Det Haster’) and spacey dreamscapes (‘Olympiske Leker’), the real highlight is the fluffy, FM Belfast-aping sugar of ‘Golden Years’. A-ha can consider their money well spent.
