Pull Tiger Tail Announce Debut Album Release
Pull Tiger Tail have announced details of their debut album release, over a year after they split up. Having gone their separate ways with their record company B-Unique – not to mention gone separate ways with, erm, themselves – the London trio sent out an email today (June 11th) announcing that they would be releasing ‘PAWS.’ independently via the Internet.
Pull Tiger Tail burst onto the music scene in 2006 with a string of ace singles, including ‘Mr 100%’ and ‘Animator’, but a mix of management and record company cock-ups meant that recording of their debut album was severely delayed, ultimately resulting in the band’s demise.
The email reads:
This is just a heads up to say that next week we’ll send you the album we recorded in February 2007. Weird, huh?
The album is by us, Pull Tiger Tail, and it shall be named “PAWS.”
(Note the all-important full-stop at the end, which cost us an arm and a leg from a branding company)
The release date shall be August 17th 2009.
We have no expectations whatsoever and we’re releasing it ourselves through the magical thing called the “internet”. This “internet” promises lots of money for little work, which incidentally is what major record companies also promise. But they demand big work!
We’ll see who keeps their promise the best.
Any questions, hit us back with the subject line: “Pull Tiger Tail, what the FAQ?”
Expect a package soon!
UPDATE: As the comments below have pointed out – Pull Tiger Tail haven’t split up. Even though they said in the introduction to the above email that they were releasing the album from “beyond the grave.” Presumably this was to bamboozle The Fly’s tiny little brain. Yeah, nice one PULL TIGER TAIL! NICE ONE! You can congratulate them on their bamboozling skills at two shows over the next month, first on Friday 10th July @ Pop Goes The Weasel’s night at Islington Academy, then the next day at Natural History Museum, which we guess is as good a locale as any to come back from the dead.
