Don’t you just hate it when you’re camping in the woods with your girlfriend and her face turns into leaves?
It really has a tendency to ruin any photo opps you get at windmills. Still, at least you won’t both wake up in the same dream with the teddybears you put in your pockets earlier. That’d just be confusing and weird.

Gah, maybe we’re just taking aspects of Loved Ones’ new video too literally (READER’S VOICE: IT’S NOT A DOCUMENTARY, GUYS!), but the Liverpudlians’ latest ‘Weekends Are Ours’ is one of the more Lynchian promotional shorts we’ve seen lately; somewhere between Inception and The Blair Witch Project. On a £5 budget. Probably.

Of course, it’s a fitting montage to accompany the band’s melancholy music; ‘Weekends Are Ours’ is a slow-rolling cloud bank of creepiness.

This is their debut physical release, out now as a 7″ single on Witchfinder Records, with artwork supplied by Liverpool designer John Biddle. It is backed by the b-side ‘Rocking Horse’.
