Slim Chance play Ronnie Lane + Pearl Handled Revolver

Friday 17th January 2014, 7:00 pm | 10:30 pm curfew Buy Tickets Tickets: £17.50 Adv

Led by ace guitarist Steve Simpson and Charlie Hart on accordion and fiddle, joined by original members including Colin Davey, Alun Davies, and Steve Bingham, Slim Chance have come together to celebrate the music of the man who led them, the late and great founding member of the Faces, Ronnie Lane. This exclusive London date will definitely be a night to remember. Special guests are hoped for.

Ronnie always jokingly claimed that he found the musicians for Slim Chance in the pages ofExchange and Mart. In 2010 Charlie Hart and Steve Simpson trawled the streets of South London and miraculously found three more ex-Slim Chancers who were all keen to sign up again to the quest for Ronnie’s musical holy grail. By gigging round the country the line-up has gelled into a fine band and become a powerful entity in its own right.

The aim is to create a show which celebrates the range of Ronnie’s later music: to take this show to people in village halls and clubs, festivals and theatres at home and abroad; and eventually, joined by numerous friends, to resurrect the Passing Show itself.

Opening the night are Bedfordshire’s highly respected Pearl Handled Revolver. Since their arrival on the music scene they have not only built a strong national following but signed a deal with US-based King Mojo Records, released their first album to critical acclaim and have just released their eagerly anticipated follow-up – This Mountain Wait. Pearl Handled Revolver play with passion, they play with heart and on stage they deliver exhilarating, psychedelic live performances.
